Heart of a Philanthropist's Take
Life on the frontier is hard. Especially when two daughters are kidnapped by Native Americans and turned into slaves after their brother and father are murdered by those same Indians. The sisters are separated further when different tribes take them. The sisters (and one friend who was also taken) are force to learn the native way of life. They must dress, hunt, and worship like their captors. BUT, the girls were taught Christianity. How can they learn to accomodate their captor's wishes and serve their own God, or will they? You have to read it to find out!
The story takes place during the French-Indian war. It is an easy read, and will keep your child's attention. Although it is written for younger kids, fourth grade and up, I am glad I read it!
