The next year his father was coming home from work and someone fell asleep at the wheel and hit him head on. He was in the hospital for 87 days. He had a lot of therapy to go through. After healing from 22 broken bones, seven surgeries, and several close calls, his father came home and relied completely on the family to care for him for quite a while. One more thing... while Johnathon's dad was in the hospital I got the idea to take Johnathon to get family photos done to hang in the hospital room. That is when I opened the front door and my son's birthday present- a pound puppy- ran out the front door and was killed in front of my son by a speeding van who didn't even bother to stop.
Understandably my son was turning into an angry nine year old. We went to see a psychologist who suggested anger management classes for my son. It turned out to be a joke. He was with some delinquents who had no understanding of what he was going through. My son actually ended up more angry from the experience and I became skeptical of the entire process. Fast forward to today. I had to decide what professional to use through Amwell. I had questions for a dietitian (my son is a picky picky eater). I also had questions for a psychologist. (We homeschool and there are no kids in our neighborhood for socialization). Basically it turned out my question was, "Am I doing a good job raising my son?"
I researched several doctors and dietitians. It is super easy to do- easier than any doctor's office I ever visited. As a matter of fact I know more about the doctors on Amwell than I do about our family physician. Technology is amazing! Amwell is amazing!
