If I win the Tyent Water Ionizer and $500 for my charity, I will throw in my $500 winning prize as well. That means we will donate $1,000 and clean drinking water to #Haiyan victims. Please help spread the word!

This issue is close to my heart. I love the people of the Philippines and I love their land. I visited in 2000. I did not stay in fancy hotels, I stayed in the homes of people who lived there. One family saved a week's wages to buy an egg crate (that we use in America as a topper for a bed) for me to sleep on. It was humbling to see my 'bedroom' to say the least. Four broken chairs held a piece of plywood in the air, and on that plywood was my eggcrate mattress- about two inches thick. I wish I had a picture to show you!
One thing that really touched my heart was that people who had nothing for themselves would share their fried fish with me! They had nothing to give, but they gave freely anyway. It reminds me of the story in the Bible where the poor widow lady gave her half a penny to the offering in Mark 12
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. (Quoted from Bible Gateway King James Version)
These were the better days for the people of the Philippines. Was this a poor family? No! This was an average Filipino family. That was 13 years ago, when our economy- and theirs- was much better. That was before the worst storm in recorded history- Typhoon #Haiyan! Please pray for the Philippines. Pray for its citizens.
