What a fun story! I love that Frankie Dupont is a 10 year old investigator (and the first ten year old to pass the detective test). He wears a fedora (like my own son does) and hangs out with his dog who helps Frankie Dupont solve the mystery of the Lemon Festival Fiasco. Something not so realistic about the story is that Frankie is allowed to bring his crime solving dog with him to school. However, that is part of the charm of this story. You will laugh as the dog is covered with the mysterious lemon goo at school.
Who is causing the lemon items to be poisoned? Is it a jealous teacher? A spiteful chef? Or someone else? The twists will grab any reader's attention and show to kids why they should not just jump to conclusions without all the facts. A fun read for young and old!
