Heart of a Philanthropist's Take
One of the other mom’s is the pastor’s wife of the First Baptist Church, which all of these ladies attend. She feels the stress of having to be the perfect pastor’s wife, and making sure her teenage daughter is perfect too. Anyone who has raised teenagers knows that is not going to happen. The mother and daughter have the constant battle of wills, setting the stage for her needing a night out.
The last mom is the mother of twins with a frazzled dad that is still petrified from having two young boys. The mom is first introduced to us with 5 or 6 pregnancy tests all showing positive, and she does one more because she can’t possibly be pregnant again!
After a few more crazy things happen Allyson declares to her two friends that they need a mom’s night out. She tells the husbands that they can watch the kids for one night so the girls can have one night of a nice dinner out, conversation with adults, and no kids hanging on them. Sounds reasonable right?
There is a mix up with the girls’ reservations, and the dads have one mishap after another, one of which is an unaccounted for missing baby. Allyson takes all of the moms’ cell phones and put them in the car which is a set up for further trouble.
This movie has a little bit of everything zany mayhem, misunderstandings, motorcycle gangs, and a tattoo parlor complete with colorful characters. I don’t want to give it away, but the tattoo covered motorcycle gang guy is the one to share a simple but profound truth to help heal Allyson’s hurting heart. This is a great family movie that I think everyone will enjoy. As an added bonus I didn’t hear one cuss word in the whole movie which is very rare these days! HoaP recommends this family friendly movie to everyone!
