Heart of a Philanthropist's TakeI was particularly interested in this book because of the super catchy title. We are a family that reads the Bible and I thought my son may like to read a book with such creativity even in the title. Well, I was right! That is particularly encouraging because my son hates to read!
Noah's Zarc is a dystopian novel about a boy and his family who are trying to save the animals that existed throughout history by going back in time and picking up two of each animal (like the Biblical Noah's Ark), to bring back to the world. People do not live on the world. They live on planets. The Zarc family wants the earth to be a sanctuary for animals so that they can make sure no animal goes extinct. People can live on planets anyway so they don't need the earth.
Mr. Zarc's brother is not happy about their plan. He wants to inhabit the earth. It is a paradise that should not be wasted on animals. So, he kidnaps Noah's mom in the future and strands Noah's dad in the past.
Noah and his brother and sister must travel back in time to rescue their dad then go into the future to save their mom. It is even more intense when you find out that Noah is in a wheelchair. What a crazy story! I loved it!
I really liked that the author included the main character with a different ability. So many kids are called "disabled." We need to realize they have more power and strength than we are aware. If you know a child who may feel insecure about something that makes them different from other kids, this is a perfect story for them. If your child likes action, adventure, comedy, drama, mystery, etc., they won't be disappointed with the Noah Zarc series!
There are so many things I want to tell you about the book but that would spoil it for you. You need to get Noah's Zarc and read it with your kids.

About the Author: D. Robert PeaseD. Robert Pease has been interested in creating worlds since childhood. From building in the sandbox behind his house, to drawing fantastical worlds with paper and pencil, there has hardly been a time he hasn't been off on some adventure in his mind, to the dismay of parents and teachers alike. Also, since the moment he could read, books have consumed vast swaths of his life. From The Mouse and the Motorcycle, to The Lord of the Rings, worlds just beyond reality have called to him like Homer's Sirens. It's not surprising then he chose to write stories of his own. Each filled with worlds just beyond reach, but close enough we can all catch a glimpse of ourselves in the characters he brings to life.
