My son and I have had the 'girls are gross' conversations at different stages in his life. The other day while we were driving in the car he said, "Mom, remember how I said I wasn't interested in girls? Well, I changed my mind. I'm interested now." Not all kids are going to be so blunt about such an observation. I have built a lot of patience and trust into my relationship with my son. Thankfully he let me know by this statement that I can't wait until he is an adult to talk with him about adult topics. I was happy to receive P2P for review, especially after my son made his announcement.
P2P offers parents a 3 day retreat with their son/daughter to discuss the values about sex that are important to the parent and provides profound yet simple ways to discuss why these values are important. It is highly suggested that fathers have a weekend away with their son(s) and mothers have a weekend away with their daughter(s) to discuss sex. When the talks are done at home, distraction can set in, and/or a child may be afraid someone else will hear their questions. It is also suggested that the parent gives the child a present to remember the weekend by. My friend did this with his daughter so she could have a man's perspective on the opposite sex. They went to a nice hotel at the beach and he bought her a purity ring that she will give to her husband on the night of their wedding. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift (unless you want it to). Amazon has several purity rings for under $10.00.
I highly recommend P2P for any family that has a preteen. Now through August 31,click HERE to save 25% on the P2P kit when you use coupon code PASSPORT at checkout.

About the Kit
FamilyLife developed Passport2Purity (P2P) to assist you in building heart-to-heart communication with your preteen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare him or her for the turbulent years ahead. Through the shared listening experience, object lessons and guided conversations of a P2P weekend getaway, you can set your son or daughter on a journey of moral integrity - and strengthen the bond between you.
It is designed to be used by a mother and daughter or a father and son when the child is a preteen. It is suggested that the materials be completed over a weekend away from home, as the child may be more open to discussing the topics away from his or her normal environment. If this isn't possible, the material can be completed over a period of four or five weeks.
