I didn't like trying to read through the part that was written in Afrikaans because it was unfamiliar to me. However, I do have a few friends who speak Afrikaans so that made it a bit of an interesting challenge for me. I did enjoy that the book was written in poetry and prose. Her poetry took my mind off the idea that I was reading a story, and into a more poetic mindset.
As always, I agreed to share this book with a library in the Philippines that was part of Typhoon Yolanda #Haiyan. I felt myself wanting to keep it myself to read again! I know the people that read her book in the library will enjoy it as much as I did, and so it goes... to Maranatha Library in Bohol!
